W210 Wagon Water Leak
My '01 E320 Wagon seems to leak water into the third row seat area foot-well when rained on in just the right (wrong?) way. This is a problem in Florida...
Before I climb in back and get the kids to spend the afternoon spraying the car with a hose are there any know issues these models have? I can't see any obvious 'runs' down trim or over weatherstripping when looking at it in the rain and it seems to come and go... I had an old BMW 530i back in the day of Reagan and it had tiny (and hidden) drain tubes around the sunroof that would do the same thing from time to time. Are there drain tubes around the tailgate that I haven't found that need blowing out? Many thanks and Happy New Year! First I've heard of leaks on the 210 wagon. The previous generation 124 wagon had issues with the large, fixed cargo area windows leaking as the cars aged. That was caused by deterioration of the seals around the windows.
What is the condition of the rubber seal for the tailgate? Probably the first place I'd look. My guess is that if water is getting into the well for the 3rd row seat it must be coming in via the tailgate. - JimY |

FYI- (I don't think this would contribute to your problem): Mercedes dealers are "sealing" the top edges of the rubber door seals. According to the tech I spoke with water could run down and into the doors.
Have you checked your sunroof drains? Haasman
