'91 300ce Transmission Indicator/gear Bulb Dead
The transmission position indicator light bulb(s) are dead or fail to illuminate always. Also if there is a lamp for the ignition key socket it is dead also. And lastly, the courtesy overhead light fails to illuminate when the drivers door is opened...works fine with passenger door open, and when turned on manually. 1. Are these lamps on the same circuit? (all other lamps work perfectly)
2. How difficult is replacing the tranny position lamp, and how do I get at it? 3. If the key ring is illuminated, how do I get at it? 4. Is the door open button on drivers side the culprit for the courtesy lamp? Many thanks,

I had the same problem
with my drivers door, I ended up needing to replace the key/seat belt buzzer relay behind the instument cluster. same symptoms no dome light with driver door open, it would work with pass not driver.
The indicator light is below the center counsul under the carpet there is a screw that needs to be removed. remove trim from gearshift then carefully and gently pull on back of counsul to lift rear and pivot forward
