W140 Instrument Cluster Failing?
'96 S320, 150K miles. With headlights off, instrument cluster and all dash lights illuminate everytime the brake pedal is depressed; bulb out indicator also illuminates, although no bulbs are defective.
Faulty instrument cluster or a defective brake light switch? |

Hmmm. That is puzzling. Perhaps someone here will have the answers.

Holy Crap!
I actually have that same problem, but it seems to have magically fixed itself. I think that there is a poor connection somewhere that triggers this... Try this, turn on your headlights and push the brake. Does the bulbout indicator light up? If not, then you have the same problem as I do.

What you describe sounds like faulty wiring causing a crossed connection. I would look for wiring with failing insulation. Wish I could tell you where to start.

Did anyone come up with a solution?? I just changed my front brake pads and now my external burned bulb light indicator on th dash comes on every time I touch the brakes. I have checked to make sure the brake sensors were plugged in and I have check and don't find any bulbs burned out. I don't know where to look next.
