116.963 vs. 116.962 - head gasket sets, valve stem seals, valves
Dear all,
I have a 116.963 engine in my 1983 380SEC, with the last 6 digits: 026395. I have purchased a head gasket set that fits a 960,961,962,964. It turns out that the cylinder bore is about 4mm bigger than the one I need. Can this head gasket still be installed (everything else fits)? What has changed with the valves (valve stem seals)? Many manuals show a different part number (althoguh at different engine number cut-offs) for different last six digit engine numbers? What is a good brand to get gaskets from (e.g., is "elring" good)? Finally, does anyone have a new or slightly used exhaust and intake valve (one exhaust and one intake), they are willing to part with for some compensation? Thanks, Greg
