How hard to pull engine from this wreck?

I need an engine for my gray market '95 S280 5-speed and this '94 E320 with 77K miles is selling at a salvage auction next week. Does it look like any problem getting the engine out? Would my 5-speed bellhousing bolt up to the E320 engine?

Wow. That was a very nice car too! Looks like it did its job of protecting its passengers.

Still looks to me like it is repairable however.

All you need is a cutting tourch.I am not kidding I worked at a yard in hi-school ans that does not look to bad. Unbolt what you can and cut off the rest. You could also yank on it with a truck to try and pull it out. Are these engines aluminum? I would look at it very closely to make sure they are no broken mounting points not just the motor mounts but all assesories. Also make sure the crank was not hit hard it does not look like it was.

That looks like a light nose hit! Judging from the picture, it looks like the radiator nor the AC condenser were even damaged!

Unbolt what you can of the body panels gaining the most access to the engine. Spend at lest 2 hours staring at ever inch of that engine looking for cracks. Then take a SAWZALL with a heavy-duty blade and it will cut that car up like butter. Then when the engine is out spend one hour looking over every inch of that engine for damage. Then 1 hour for lunch now spend another full hour looking for cracks bent brackets, bent studs cracked blocks ECT. Then when you’re loading it on the truck check it again for damage. I did not do this one time that I got a sweet deal on a great engine out of a wreck. And I was out a lot of money plenty of swat and I had a killer engine with a nice hairline crack in the block that dirt was covering hiding the crack. Now I always do the check and recheck until I am sure I have checked every inch. I also bring 10 to 12 cans of brake cleaner and many shop rags.

definitely a sawsall. You can and probably should extract the engine control portions of the wire harness, unless you're sure you don't need any of it. This an upgrade from 2.8 to 3.2, isn't it?

No clue on either bolt pattern. Are they both straight 6 motors?

Yes they are... 24V DOHC for both.
