Mercedes Optimum Seat Height?

I have a 1993 190E 2.3 that is extremely sensitive
to the position of the driver's seat. I believe that
the suspension is tuned to perform optimally with a
specific seat height. I'm not kidding! The driver's perception of ride comfort and handling stability of the car changes dramatically just by raising or lowering the seat. Higher is good - Nearly E-class good. Low is bad - '84 Corvette bad. Has anyone else noticed this phemomenon?

p.s. - I put Michelin Pilot XGT's on in November. 205/60HR/15. These are the perfect tires for this car!

I prefer a high seat in my C200 and I'm 6'1". In most cars I sit low down but my C-Class just seems somehow better. Ifound this with our current shape 7-er BMW (sold). maybe it's a saloon car thing.

i would normally set the seat of my 190e to the lowest possible position, to lower the center of gravity, but the effects on handling are negligible.

the more important issues for me are preventing the steering wheel from rubbing my knees, and an optimal placement of my left foot on the clutch pedal (it's a manual), since it is difficult to shift smoothly.

on prolonged trips, i would sit a bit closer to the front, since that gives me a more relaxed driving position, with my right foot at a position optimized for highway cruising speed, at the same plane as my left foot on the dead pedal.

Not many people realize that Newton actually invented gravity. Before Newton, people just kinda floated around a lot.
Another Adjustment on the seat is the forward button moving that back and forth can also greatly affect the handleing of the vehicle when its all the way back with a short person in the seat in is totally unresponsive it won't accelerate, turn or nothing but when you put it forward it goes.

You must realize that this is silly. The only thing that is affected for every day driving is your field of view. Did you ever notice that if you put air in the tires the car rolls really easy!!!!!
