alarm won't let my car start???

so i tried starting up the car yesterday to the filter change and the battery was dead, no problem i had it recharged i get it in and i go to start the car and then an alarm goes off for a 10-15 seconds turns off for a couple seconds and starts again. and its not leting the car start. i didnt know the car had an alarm. so today i tried looking for some wires to disconect the alram, but i didnt find much. i think i found the horn for the alram it is mounted in the left (passenger) side behind the light bulb location the wires look like there for power and ground only and they run to the side of the fenderwell, the wires go under a box i thought they might go into the car, so i took off the passenger carpeting and took off the heat sheild and i found alot factory wiring. i coudnlt find the alarm module or the wiring for the alarm i dont know if this is a factory alarm or aftermarket?

does anybody know any tricks for the alarm or where is there somewhere else i should looking for wires?

Is this a factory alarm? If it is to disarm it you must use you key in the drivers door and unlock the door which will disarm the alarm. If it is an aftermarket alarm and you don't have the remote transmitter you must locate the alarm brain and unplug it. If you can locate a small switch (valet switch) you could switch it in the other position and turn the ignition key to on and it should disarm it....You must remember that most aftermarket alarms have starter interupt relay in place and that is why you can't start the car.

im not 100% sure if it is a factory alarm. because usually a aftermarket has a switch for the ignition, and i dont see a switch.

my driver side door doesnt let me lock unlock the doors. its borken, it happened about two months ago when i unlocked the doors, it went to lock position and then unlock and since then it hasnt worked .it has a light next to the handle i think its electric or something. so when i put the key in it feels loose when i try to open it???
i usually unlock the doors from the passenger side or trunck.
is there another way around this alarm or is there a quick fix for the door?

Factory alarm

That car does have an installed factory alarm. The lights next to the door handle blink green for disarm, and red for armed. If you are turning the key and there is no de-activation you have a problem. Do you have your master key? if so that will disarm it as you point it to the door handle and press the big button on the master key, it will blink green. Keep in mind this will not work if the battery has been discharged and is not fully charged. Disconnect the negative battery terminal, recharge the battery fully, reconnect it and then use the remote on the master, or use the key in the drivers door. If you are still experiencing this problem then you will need further diagnosis, but you need to ensure that the battery is fully charged. Good luck!

i have the flip key with a button but it does work (i repalced the batteries already).

my unlock/lock key driverside hole does not work, the key just slides both ways???

Remove Door Handle

Well, what you are going to have to do is remove the door handle and lock, you will have to see what is not happening inside, there is a video at www.mbca.org/northtexas click on repair videos down at the bottom, it take awhile to load, but that video will tell you how to remove the door handle on that car. I think it is a vaccum switch in there, but I can't remember. I have not worked on a 140 in 3 years. At any rate from what you are saying nothing is working. Have you tried the master at other locations? There are sensors on both doors and the trunk. The alarm should disengage at any location either by IR remote or by the key. If none of these are working, don't remove the handle, but check your vacuum system. If you go to Startekinfo.com you can download the schematic, you have to subscribe, $18.00 for 1 day, but you can print and save all the documents you need for any future repairs. i can unlock from the passenger and trunck but not from the driver side its not working for some reason. im going to take the handle off what should i look for or what would fix this problem???

How much boost you running on the cuda at WOT? How much chassis work have you done? Does the car hook up? Nice car!
