Cleaning ERG tube questions...

Guru's,
1. Do I need to disconnect the drivers side flange?
2. What lenght of old speedo cable should work best?
3. Does engine temp matter? and, are there any other tips?

1996

c-280 sport, 153k, I changed plugs,connectors and 1 bad coil.
