reset check engine light on E430

Can someone please tell me how to reset the check engine light on a
99 E430? I had an alternator failure at 62K and it triggered this light.

Just replaced the alt. and would like to reset the light without taking
it to the dealer.

Thanks,

Paul

Run it by an Autozone or such. They will reset it for you. Not sure if the light will go off on it's own after the alternator repair. It may, but will likely take several starting cycles to do it.

Getting your own obd2 (on board diagnostics) scanner is also an option. It gives me a feeling control to be able to read and clear my own codes.
Just a thought,
