'86 420: Found: part loose in door

I was changing out the door check on the rear, driver's side, and found a white plastic part (actually, broken in two pieces); about the size of a large postage stamp, coated with grease. I think it may be a part which slides in the window regulator mechanism somehow. If anyone knows where to get it or has a part like this, apparently I need one.
Meanwhile I have a box of misc parts I have to finish using up; ordered from this site; thanks for the good service (recommended). The wood trim on this door panel has pulled loose from the aluminum backing, and is warped and curled opposite to the curve of the backing; I am trying to reglue it, but it will break I know when I force it back in place. I will have to find a replacement I guess.

The white plastic piece is most likely the slider in the window lift mechanism. You can buy it separately but you will need to remove the lift mechansism from the inside of the door to replace. Do a search this is a common problem.

I have used Gorilla Glue to hold wood to the backing successfully but with cautions: This is a great glue but likes to expand several minutes after application. Be sure to use per directions and clamp carefully and complelely and then WATCH IT. It will foam out and you will want to wipe it off immediately while still wet.

loose parts

Ok, I found the part on this site; thanks.
As for the wood: I am using Gorilla Glue; problem is, the wood is so cupped, just the opposite to the curve of the backing, that it cracked the lacquer when I clamped it back in place. It'll do, but I'd rather have a better one.
Thanks again.

Well, it sounds like you've already glued the wood back down but for future reference, steaming the wood before glueing it will give you back some flexibility.

Very gentle steaming, not saturating the wood (which when it dries will just cause it to crack more).

Also as a foot note to Gorilla Glue: the instructions say to wet one part of the two parts being glued. This might work especially well in the above suggestion.
