S class switch for raising and lowering car

My s-class has ESP and a switch next to it with a car on it and a up arrow. The switch has two lights on it. When I push the switch top both lights come on and the car raises. The manual talks about two levels of raising but I cant get one light to come on and then the other. Both always come on at the same time and the car goes up. Is this normal or should the car raise one level with one light and then level 2 and the second light comes on

Thanks

The early production W220 S Class had only one stage of level adjustment.
That is why you only get 2 leds or none. Your car most likely has a later version owners manual.

Think the dealer is expensive? Do you know how much it costs to train a dealer tech? Or buy the required MB special tools to have on hand?

Thanks for your reply. When I look on ebay at the switches on 2001 to 2002 they all have only one light. I only find the two lights on some 2000 models. Some 2000 models have one light switch some have two. But all after 2001 have one. Did very early models have two levels?
