Flood cars, anyone know anything about dealer in Wallingford CT?
I'm in the market for another mercedes and I found a place in Wallingford CT that has really attractive prices.
The owner called me back and stated frankly that he aquires his cars from insurance companies that are either theft recoveries or flood cars. He has cars such as a 2001 CLK55 with 47K mi for $24.9K.
He stated that they check for real damage and dont buy cars that have flooded past the seat rails (these are not from New Orleans but from the rains we had here in the northeast). On some of the cars he stated he has not needed to remove the carpet because it was not wet.
Anyway, anyone know anything about the dealer (name is Imports Unlimited in Wallingford CT I believe they have been around for at least ).
Would you buy a flood car? What would you check? I can pull up carpet, check in spare tire areas, Inspect under upholstery.
I would not be looking to buy and resell anytime soon, I would buy a car with about 40K mi and keep it to at least 150-200K
Thanks for any advise
