96 280c Hood Won't Latch
 

The hood leaver works fine. It locks and unlocks the hood latch. The latch itself appaers to be work. It goes into the lock & unlock position, but to hood won't catch. When I close the hood the latch hook catches, but to hood latch doesn't want to catch..... The hood bobs up and down and just doesn't catch. I've tried fiddling with the hood leaver in the car as well as the latch hook?Any suggestion would be helpful.....

I had this problem just yesterday. Just spray some WD40 on the latch.
It is spring loaded, and the spring was pretty dirty (+cold weather?).
