I have a few faults with my coupe the first is my right hand seat belt extender decided to stop working my interior light only works when the ignition is switched on and i wanted to know if the coupe windows should open and close slightly when the door is opened or shut.I also have the common cold start problem and i have serviced the car changing all the consumable items any help would be great. Many thanks Ross

Don't have a coupe so I can't really help w/ the coupe-specific items, but what exactly is the nature of your cold start problem?

What year is your car? The malfunction of the seat belt presenter is, in my opinion, a blessing. When the other side quits you will be very fortunate indeed. Just reach down low to grab the belt and pull it up. Passengers can be trained to do the same. No, the windows don't open and close slightly when the door is shut - again a blessing unavailable on later models. The cold start problem could be bad injectors, bad fuel pressure regulator. Tell us more about the symptoms. Does it run rough for a while when it starts?

problems with 300CE
I am new to the 300CE having only bought my 91 last month. However, deanyel is correct in his post...my windows don't partially open when door is opened, my retractors still work, however, I agree with him...just reach down and pull the belt. I am sure that fixing it will cost you plenty. As for the cold start problem, what is the problem?

i saw that kind of style from a BMW E34 coupe, windows partially open when you open/close door, FYI ;) ...also, regarding your seatbelt "butler" handover, you have to check the computer box (just behind the mechanism of the belt, have to remove the rear mouldings) both belts have their own box, i have mine (driver side) replaced...

I had a 92 300CE for a few years, now have a 97 S500 Coupe. The windows on my 92 did not go down when the door was opened. My 97 does, to seal the double glazed window.
