dvb-t in w203

Hi all,

My first post! I am from the uk and have a pre facelift 2004 w203 c class.
I am installing a dvb-t system to my comand 2.0. I want to install the tuner in the boot but I need 12v for it. Also, I might need a powered aerial (9v) as well - also to be kept mainly in the boot or on the back shelf. (aha! boot = trunk btw!!)

questions:

1) How do i remove the carpet so i can thread the wires through to the comand ?

2) How can I get 12v and 9v which is only on when the key is on?

3) er,, thats it actually

thanks

Steve

The rear SAM (signal aquisition module) is on the left inner fender and has power from the battery. I never tried to penetrate the bulkhead so can't help you there. The SAM is incorporated into the fuse panel.

Thanks

Both batt term 30 and ignition term 15 appear at the rear SAM. If you understand that terminology then a good wiring diagram will tell you the rest of what you need to know to tap these circuits. I didn't reply before as it would be unprofessional of me not to warn you about tying into these systems involved without a thorough knowledge of what you are doing.

The SAM is a finicky device and I've seen as little as running the battery down do it in.
