What brand plug wires for 500E?
Are Bosch wires at $159 as good as Beru for over $200?

I bought a set of Beru for my 560SL because they were the OEM wires. A friend of mine bought the Bosch. This is what I found.
On the 560SL 2 of the wires have angled ends. Niether the Beru or Bosch came with these angled ends. The angled ends have to be purchased seperately for an additional $50.00 or so. Removing the ends usually meanes detroying the wire end and having to crimp on new ones. The Beru did not come with the yellow wire number tags that were standard from MB at the factory. The Bosch did have wire numbers stencieled into the wire insulation. The Beru did not come with the ruber sheath that the wires are wraped in at the factory. The Bosch wires had this sheath. The option for me was to purchase the Beru wires, two angled ends, two new wire end screw terminals. A wire number tag for each end of each wire (each sold seperately from MB) and one meter of rubber insulation hose (sold at MB) I then assembled the wires like they were from the factory. Its not like you need to do this. It's just the price of keeping the car original as possible. John Roncallo |

I installed the Bosch wire set on my 500E two weeks ago. Very satisfied.
