Sunroof problem
 

I just acquired a 91 560sel. The sunroof will slide back and forth but will not flip up. When I try to flip the roof up, only one side will slightly go up and the other is still down. it looks like something is making it stuck in that position? I can hear the motor running and the motor seems fine. What can be wrong?

Not sure about your model; but my 85 300D has adjustment screws for how the sunroof will set; higher and lower in corners....
my advice get a good referel to a sunroof repair shop. In my area there's 1 who knows these and he's an upholstery interior guy.

thanks, will keep that in mind. when I got the car, the sunroof headliner looked like it was removed maybe the PO got someone to check it out. The tabs were not fully in place for the liner.

One of the slides may be broken. My dad and I are putting the sunroof back together on my SDL this weekend.

You need to pull at least the headliner to investigate, and maybe the panal itself.

The slides are about $140 each, sunroof parts are pricey, I am $425 into mine and counting.:o

You have some broken parts. You'll need a manual and one special tool from Mercedes that costs about $65.00.
