Is the chain IN THE ENGINE broken now? IF not then that is very high!
About 7-8 hrs labor to install the chain & upper rails.

too much?
I knew it was high, but wanted someone with more knowledge to confirm it. The car runs like a top, but all I hear is change chain every 100k, as good PM
Next shop quoted 1550 for chain and water pump. Better. Appreciate it, Art |

Around 1k and they should buy you lunch too. (that's if they don't run into any problems, like a stuck rail pin, or a bad cam)

$2400? WAY TOO MUCH. That is highway robbery. I was quoted between $500-700 from three of our local MB shops. Not sure about the dealer though. $2400 sounds more like a dealer price.

For that money, I'd do it if it were closer, and the water pump too - OTOH, Fl is nice this time of year...
