Driving to the moon?
 

Is there some phrase or notion relating the mileage on one's odometer to the distance from earth to the moon?? "Halfway to the moon", or something like that?Don't know if it's a MBenz thing or what.

The average distance between the Earth and the Moon is 238,900 miles.

My 1993 Ford Taurus has 23,000 miles to go. My 560SL has is half way to the moon.

I put this in the diesel group a little while back, sorry for the repeat. A previous member mentioned deciding how long to keep his car and arbitrarily picked the distance to the moon and back, around 480K +/- a bit. I was deciding to keep my old car with 280K on it. I told my daughters about the idea of going to the moon and back. Then I ran into a the car I have now and sold my old car. My daughters were upset, they said "now you'll never get back from the moon".

I expect they still think I'm a bit spacy...8)
