Ball Joint removal
 

Has anyone removed ball joints on a 124 chassis with an air hammer and the proper size pnematic fork?

I've used my air hammer to remove tie rod ends and it was very easy. I know the ball joints are much more substantial and I was wondering whether the air hammer is ok to remove them.

It's OK to remove them this way if your intent is to replace them.

Do you know of the correct special tool that will work for installing them? Like maybe something Samstag or someone else sells that would not be quite as pricey as the MB tools.
