DIY leakdown tester

It have put together leak down tester similar to this one (- vmaxoutlaw.com/tech/leakdown_tester.htm ) using some spare stuff that I had . I specifically want to check a 603 diesel so I used an old injector housing insted of a spak plug . What is an acceptable rule of thumg leak down at 100 psi for Mercedes gas and diesel engines ( any links to charts would be nice ) ? Any other suggestions on doing the test are appreciated ?

The leakdown tools that you buy have restrictive orfices that control the air PRESSURE/AIR QUANITY so .......???

MB even has their OWN specs for that...

What problem are you having?

Unless the car has overheatd badly, leakdown doesn't show any more than a compression test.

I have to agree. My leak down tester is my least used tool. It has been several years since I used it. If you have say 30% leak down in a cylinder and the car runs fine, what are you going to do, tear the engine apart? If you have a low cylinder and want to know if it's rings or valves, you can do a wet test or even use an air hold like you would to do valve seals. Just listen to where the air comes out.
