Air Conditoner Erratic
 
Hi,

Can any 1 pls pin point the fault in my air conditioner. The Fan seems to work erractically. It can reduce the fan speed all of a sudden of its on accord. And at time it will just not work at all.

Can any 1 help me to diagnose the fault & if its a simple fix?

Hi Raymond,

An all too common problem on our cars. If you do a search on "climate control", "AC" or a couple other variations, you'll find lots of suggestions on what could be the cause.

I don not seem to find a similar problem, can you assist me please?

Don't you think it would be sort of important for us to know what kind of car you have? Is it safe to assume that it is a Mercedes?

I think a good place to start would be by reading the TROUBLESHOOTING thread that is stickied to the top of this forum. Then do a search for information.

Wiggle the ignition switch back and forth slightly and

see if the blower runs better. This was the problem on my 79 450SLC, the ignition switch is much cheaper then the blower.
