Runs then Dies
My daughter's '89 300E was running down the highway, sputtered and lost power then died. Restart was possible then would die again. $200 tow to home later, the car will start and run for 45-60 sec without issue, then suddenly die like the key was turned off. The fuel pump can actually be heard pressuring up like when you first turn the key on.
Also, if the rev the engine to around 2K rpm, the engine dies much quicker, running then losing power then just dying...kind of like running out of gas. Ideas? Perhaps filter?

I have 84 500SE and had the same problem and ended up being
the fuel distributor that was clogged, there is a fuel filter inside the fuel distributor outlet line that had so much lead from gas that blocked the fuel line, maybe something could be blocking your gas... |

The first thing I would look at is the fuel pump relay. Jumper the pins so that the fuel pump is on all the time and see if the problem is still there. You'll have to look at the ETM to figure out which two pins to jumper.
One common problem with an older fuel pump relay is that the solder joints inside of it crack. You can also proactively open up the relay and resolder the joints.
