84 500 sel Euro trans rebuit or used?
need to replace the tranny should i go rebuilt or used every one telling me(bone yards) that it must come from a 84 or 85 500 sel is this true?could it be the B-2 piston the car started moving like it was in neutral on take off then it would go third and forth were fine it was also making a rumbling noise during the take off fluid level looks a little high now the car wont move foward in d ,2,1 but rev works fine any tips help appriciated thanks

Not a big fan of used..You can use transmissions from 380's, 420's, 500's, 560's etc.. even E500's and 500SL's, S500's (early boxes) will work just fine.
There is a very good chance it is your B2. Seeing as you will have to drop the box one way or the other might as well get her out and have a look. The B2 can be done in the car but it is a PITA... I'd wager if you did a search you would find directions on how to do it. if you can't find them here I know they can be found over at mbcoupes.com Jonathan

rebuild
I pulled the B-2 and it looks fine i guess I'll have to get it rebuilt got a qoute of 1200 from megan auto in villa park il 1yr warranty
