I need big help, I have a 1982 Toyota Celica and I parked it 2 Nights ago , It was running great but now it just turn,s over and over and acts like it,s not getting any fuel , But at firdt I thought I was smelling fuel but now I really dont think so . I have 3 sisters living with me and there no help at all,, Do you think it,s the fuel pump or just not getting fire , Or could of it all of a sudden jump time . Hey I really need a pro here .,, My funds are very limited obviously because I drive a 1982 Toyota Celica , It,s been A great car and I can afford to drive it , Thats why I,m asking for professional help. Any pictures of the sisters? You need three things present, to run. Fuel, ignition, compression. Your motor has a carburetor, so looking to see if fuel is present should be easy. Pull a sprak plug, place it back in the plug wire, ground the body of the plug to the mptpr, and have a sister crank it over. You will see the plug spark, or not. The timing belt can jump, and often does, on start up in high mileage poorly maintained vehicles.

I am not sure if it makes any difference to your statement, but these cars actually have timing chains, rather than timing belts. Toyota used chains on a lot of their cars before the mid 1980s. Here is a little diagram of it that I found by looking up 82' Celica:

At any rate- it sounds like the fuel pump has went out. I have owned several Toyotas, but never had a problem like this. Was the car running fine before? Did it stop all of a sudden? Good luck.
