Small leak after brake job
I just changed the Front Rotor and pads on my car. I found a few drips of brake fluid right behind the left front tire. When I checked the reservoir, it seems like the brake fluid level increased from before I did the brake job (Above Max Line). Is it possible that the new pads causing this? I don't know where it leaked from. It might be from the seal of the master cylinder.
Other than that small leak, the brake works just fine. Anyone ever had this experience?

The fluid level will drop as the pads are used up... if someone adds fluid between sets of pads it will go above the max with brand new pads. you can siphon or scoop it out with something extreamly clean.
Would suggest you monitor fluid level every stop till it stabilizes.

Yes,the brake fluid level will increase when you change the pads. It is the fluid that was in the caliper that got displaced by the caliper piston when you retracted it to fit the new, thicker pads in.

It could be that the fluid overflowed the reservoir when you installed the new pads. As has been noted, the fatter pads push the fluid back up the system into the reservoir. It is a good idea to remove some fluid before fitting new pads, to prevent this.
Check to see if there is a trail of fluid from the reservoir to where you're seeing it leaking by the front tire. Joe B.

And also, make sure you do not have or get any fluid onto any metal. It is extremely corrosive.
