W140 front passenger door panel removal
 

How do I remove the front passenger door panel trim to access the power lock actuator in 95 S320? I've looked in several manuals and the instructions are vague to non existent. Just looking at the panel seems intimidating for the novice.

never done it but.... i did r&r my rear door panel last summer from posts on this site.take all visible screws out (remember screws in the side of the panel). there will probably be one or two hidden beneath a cover plate on the door pull area.once all screws are out it should pull up. you may need to take off the rubber that the glass slides between. good luck and take your time

I have seen a procedure posted, but can't put my finger on it. The BIG secret was removing the wood panels near the inside door handle pull. There are screws behind it. You have to CAREFULLY put something like a thin putty knife behind it to release some clips that hold it in place. This is an easy piece of wood to chip or crack. Look around for some more specific instructions for an example.
Sorry for no more detailed info, but hope this heads you in the right direction.

I have the procedure on my 140 Service manual discs but you can't send the PDF's like the old style..there is a fair bit to getting those panels off:-/

Before you stat taking thing apart and pulling, the first step is to remove the seat control panel. There are two little swivels at the rear, people have used a feler guage or something soft to rotate them out of the way, by sliding the tool up or down along the rear edge. The front is held by a leaf spring, there ia s bolt behind it.
There are some fasteners in the door pocket and the usual "rivets" also known as door fasteners, start at the bottom and work your way around. You will have to unplug things, and the panel pushes up to release from the top of the door.
The reverse, swivel the little arms output he panel in from the back getting the arms unde the wood panel and snap the front in. When aligning things a helper comes in handy

I saw it done at MB, it was a piece of cake then with the help of a piece of soft plastic. I was in there when I thought I had a bad speaker (bad BOSE) instead. I does help to have spare fasteners and a extra hand. The early models had screws under the opening arm rest door covered by plugs, dont fool with any adjustments.
I am fotunate, that my local MB shop forman and I have become friends (my99 Ml and I were regulars),and occasionally gives me tips or has one of his guys do it
