The K1 spring is the magic bullet for 2-3 flare, but is there a K2 for the 3-4 flare?
I posted this in the diesel forum as well, but maybe someone here knows the answer...
I recently installed a K1 for a 2-3 flare and it completely eliminated it. I still have a slight 3-4 flare and I'm thinking there must be a K2 or K3 or K-something that does the same thing for the 3-4. There are several other "boxes" like the one that holds the K1 in the transmission, so I'm thinking there must be one. Any knowledgeable transmission people that might care to take a stab? I'm willing to order something and try it if anyone has researched and knows which spring affects the 3-4 shift. |
The trans in my former TE has started flaring intermittently going into 4th. I've been advised by an expert that it is likely the failure of a couple of seals on a rear support for the mainshaft that seal against the inside of the K2 clutch drum. These seals are accessible after you have removed everything from the inside of the transmission case.
Hopefully this isn't your problem. I wish it wasn't mine. |
