Throttle actuator body C class

I just replaced my throttle actuator body in my '95 C280 with a rebuilt unit (was told by codes that it was faulty). My mechanic cleared any codes and the car runs great. However, the check engine light just came on again. Is there still a problem somewhere or does the replacement throttle body need to be recoded to the car and my mechanic clearing the existing codes is not enough to keep the check engine light off?

Check the vacuum lines in the engine compartment. One may be broken or disconnected.

Thanks Dan,

I hope it's that easy. A little good luck with this car would be nice. I've had it about 6 months and have had to replace the head gasket, the wire harness, pinion seal on the rear end replaced and the throttle actuator rebuilt. I can't do too much more (only 90k miles).

Where did you find a rebuilt one?? My 95 needs one too.

Diagnosing a failed actuator by codes alone is a poor practice. (not to mention expensive) Problems aside from the actuator can trigger acutaor codes. Actual values and freeze frame data need to be interpreted to determine the cause of actuator codes before plunking out the money to replace one.
