tranny leak

87 560SL tranny leaking where kick down cable enters top right side of tranny. Is there an o-ring there and can i replace it without dropping the tranny?

leak at throttle cable entry

yes there is an O-ring seal on the throttle cable. Yest you can remove the throttle cable from the tranny and replace the O-ring--but space IS tight. You may have to remove transmission mount and exhaust pipe connections to move the tranny over to the driver side of the tunnel, AND drop the rear down to get enough clearance.
