450SL Vent Control & Kick Down

I have 1973 and the transmission does not kick down into passing. Any suggestions?
Also, The center console was removed, is there a wiring diagram to show where all of those nasty little wires go? Then temp (hot or cold) levers do not seem to do anything. Any ideas. Thanks
