'84 500se excessive fuel pump noise

The car starts fine but when it warms up
the fuel pump starts making excessive noise
as if there is alot o pressure in the fuel pump
(witch is new) maybe gas is having a hard time
going back into the gas tank? im not sure
it would be great if someone could give me some
light thanks

i would

look for an air leak in the fuel lines. sucking air makes noise, i think.

Those pumps usually start screaming when they're on their way out...

Make sure it's hanging free and the filter is new...you might open the supply from the tank and make sure there is enough flow without restriction.
Bad accumulators cause noise too.

Yes indeed. Change it now before you get stranded.

pump strain

Take a peek at the fuel tank pick up screen or strainer. Order a new O-ring before you drop that plug-screen combo, which resides in the middle of your tank. If the pump is new, it sounds like its straining to pull fuel from the tank. Do you have tandem pumps?

Take a look the screen filter in the fuel supply line reducing bushing go in to fuel distributor. Take it out try to blow out with mouth. If cannot blow thru. use comp air blow it clean. Hope this help. :)
