Need Help Broken Door Lock Cylinder On W202
Sorry, I ran a search but found nothing of this sort. The lock cylinder on my driverside door is broken. I was in a hurry to leave the car and I tried to lock it with the key (no keyless entry) but turned it to the unlock position. I then quickly turned it to the lock position and heard a pop. Didn't think anything of it because the doors locked. Then when I got back to the car to unlock it, I stuck the key in and turned the lock but nothing happened. The key just turned back and fourth without anything happening. Now I have to unlock and lock the car from the trunk or the passenger side like a damn loser. Car is a 95 c280 with no keyless entry as stated.
Does anyone no how to fix this problem or pop the door handle/lock cylinder out to look at it? Any suggestions greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. |
There is a 3mm allen at the end of the door that must be backed-off to remove that "tumbler"... Most of the time a small rolled split-pin falls out.

Thanks for the reply. That bolt is located just inside the door where the latch is? No need to take the door panal off correct?

Checked but no screw for tumbler
I got home today to have a look at the car. I was searching for the allen screw, but could not find one at the end of the door for the tumbler. There are two screws however for the striker (latch I guess). I went ahead and took the door panel off (shockingly easy) to have a look but still cannot see anything.

Take a close look under the seal.
