LONG socket extensions.
Everything is pretty straightforward. There's an access panel that allows you to remove the torque converter bolts (front of bell housing). Get those out. Then start from the back of the tranny, and disconnect everything (have the transmission firmly supported before you unbolt the mount/crossmember!). Once you've gotten the rear of the transmission down out of the tunnel a little, you can use your long extensions and a wobble to get those two top bolts on the bell housing.
I just did a tranny swap, and it was not fun. The lift ought to make the experience a little less painful, though. PM if you have any other questions. Jay. |
