leaky PS lines...how hard to replace?

I have 2 leaky power steering systems...a slow leak on my W126 420SEL and a gusher on the W107 560SL...the pumps both seem to be intact, but the lines seem to be the source of the problem in both instances. I can get the parts fairly cheap, but how hard is it going to be to change them? Should I just let a professional do it or is this something an average DIYer can swing?

Are you talking about the pressure side or the return side?

The return side is just held on with hose clamps.

The pressure side is crimped and scews into fittings.

Other then the lack of room on the V8's both lines look like very simple to change.

Simple, just remove old... measure to new PS line... reinstall. I think it's about $12 for about three feet of return line.

As for the pressure, have it rebuilt at a hose shop in town. Cost me $20 to rebuild the one on the SD only... versus $55 I think it was for the pressure one. $35 back in the pocket for other parts. :D
