See if you can wet the area with PB Blaster and let it soak overnight. Then reapply, and remove the lug bolts.
|
After letting the PB Blaster soak overnight try using a breaker bar with a deep well 17mm socket ... if they are still difficult to loosen use a 4 foot long cheater pipe over the breaker bar to apply more torque to the lug bolts.

I've frequently had good luck with applying a blow torch to the stubborn part in question. The expansion from the heat tends to make the parts move against each other and breaks something loose.

Is the car driveable? If you don't have a torch, another way to warm up the brakes is do drive around a bit. The heat from braking warms the hub, basically the same thing.
Otherwise, penetrating oil, a breaker bar, and a 4-foot pipe extension over it are the way to go. This is the only way I was able to break loose the caliper bolts on my front brakes. Oh, and if these are the lug bolts we're talking about, lifting up on the handle gives you more leverage than pushing down. |
