Power door/trunk closer

1994 S500. The door closers on the passenger side do not work. Also the trunk pull down does not work. While I can slam these shut I really hate to do that. Is there a manual somewhere that will show me how to diagnose these problems and fix. Driver side doors work great. Also, how do you get the door panels off on a S500.

Try removing fuses #3 & 9 in the trunk for 5-10 seconds & see if the system functions properly again.

its the "close assist" pump over the rear wheel. If it comes back to life after the "fuse" trick it will probably only be temporary. Try doing a search on "closing assist", There is nothing in the doors that you can change. These pumps have safeties and if they dont close properly in two ties the circuit is disabled. I am on my 2nd in 14 years and the dealer has not had the doors open, just replaced the pump and checked to make sure there were no leaks

playing with it again

After playing with the trunk lid, I see where the pull down is actually working. Seems that the trunk latch, the flipping part is not engaging without forcing the lid down. maybe out of adjustment of something. will have to see what it takes to get into that part and see if it can be adjusted up just a little.

Thanks again for the help...

If I remember correctly, Pre-facelift W140s had the trunk lid vacuum hooked with the door locks pump, not the doors servo assist pump (as it is operated on later post-facelift models).

Try resetting also the fuse(s) for the door lock/seat lumbar pump. Even if the door locks and lumbar supports work, the trunk lid function might be disabled.
