1996 e 320 Mercedes A/C issue

My a/c seems to blow a lil less colder air on the drivers side vs the passenger side, even when i set the thermostat to the lowest level. I was wondering if someone could shed some light on why this happens. I know that you can control each side idependently. Is there a way to fix this proplem. Do i need freon for one side and not the other?

i have seen this many times at my shop, usually caused by low freon charge. let us know if that fixes your problem.

another test you can do to be sure it isn't a leaking heater valve. is turn the system on EC and lower the temps both to low. see if they are the same temp, if they are, then the low freon is likely the problem

If the higher left-side temperature is accompanied by a rather noticable hiss coming from behind the center vents, it's almost certainly low on charge. But of course, check the heater core outputs first in EC mode, as Carson suggested.

You could have a clogged/restricted receiver-drier. This will cause the same symptoms that you are describing. If you refrigerant level is correct, I'd try a drier.

If that's the case, would this also cause a high reading on the high-side?

If the froen is low?

If the freon is low and i run the a/c will it damage the system? I do recall hearing a hissing sound at times.

It's not a slight hiss when the refriderant is low. It's rather noticable, and sounds like it's coming from right behind the center vents.

If it's low, you won't damage anything. If the expansion valve is faulty, you probably won't damage anything, but may dump refridgerant if the head pressure gets too high.

What's #7 say on N22 in sensor readout mode when you run the AC?
