Ebay O2 Sensor

Hi folks. I am having idling problems with my 1990 300te wagon. It been diagnosed as having need a new O2 sensor. The mercedes dealership wants 330 canadian dollars for the replacement part. (approx 280 usd).

I have looked around and can find a Bosch replacement from many places online for about $130 usd and on ebay there's one for $35 usd. The seller describes it as "O2 OXYGEN SENSOR BECKARNLEY SG505 M. BENZ 300E L6 3.0 Item number: 8051482403 this item will work great on 90 MB 300te"

Is this a reasonable 02 sensor to buy?

Much appreciated.

Canadian Parts Site

Autopartsonlinecanada advertise this item for $170.00 CDN. Shipping included. My experience in ordering parts from US sites is very expensive when you include shipping and duty charges.

Indeed its a 3 wire 02 sensor. The item number is 8051482403 and I just checked the price - $19 usd. Seems like a steal.

Is there any trick to installing an 02 sensor. If not, I might just do it myself.

Thanks again for your responses.

Be sure to tell your supplier to send it by MAIL !!!
UPS or FedEx will screw you for $ 30.00 just for clearing it through Canada Customs & handling fees.
I always get small items shipped that way.

Do a search on this forum for O2 sensors and you will find the number for a Bosch that is made to fit a Ford that will work very nicely on your MBZ, if you do a bit of wire splicing. You can probably buy it locally at your auto store cheaper than buying it on ebay, but I can't guarantee that - not knowing CA prices.
