I've recently repaired my AC/heat system and everything is in working order except for the auxiliary water pump. I have two questions. 1) Would this cause any problems to the system by leaving it unplugged? 2) Is it rebuildable? Thanks!! |

The scary thing here is the consequences of a bad auxilliary pump. They often fail by mechanical resistance caused by corrosion, etc. which load the motor. Loading the motor increases electrical current draw and can blow the climate control pushbutton unit.
To my knowledge they are not rebuildable. Disconnecting it would not be a good permanent solution. You should check the current draw, if it is high, on a 124 car 1.3Amps is max, disconnect it until your new one arrives, and replace it asap. Good luck, |
