Is there a phillips head screw on the sunvisor right near the outside edge near the rod the visor pivots on? This screw can be tightened to increase the friction on the rod. If the whole rod/ ball socket that allows the visor to pivot out is loose, you must remove the windshield frame trim to access a slotted screw that controls the tension on the ball socket.
