According to my haynes manual, my stock alternator puts out 55a. I have an alpine car audio amp that I know has a 30 amp fuse and I remember reading that the electrical things in your car slowly draw more current as they age. So i know that altogether there should be way more than a 55 amp demand in my car. My question is what will my alternator do to show that it is being overworked? I think it is right now because of my weird stalling and occasional starting or screeching noise while starting problems. Are these alternator related problems? What is the biggest altenator that i will be able to buy from my mercedes dealer or the parts shop here?

thanks
doug

You can install a later alternator for an E320 it it rated at 85 amps. The only thing you will have to do is cut off the connector and install solder on ends with loop connections.
