I recently rpaird the vacuum door lock system on my 83 240D. The check valve was dead in the engine compartment, and one line was misrouted from when I reinstalled engine fter rebuilding. The system was working 1/2 fine--it only worked when car was running, not after motor stopped.I was going to finish fixing in springtime when i got warmer.
Also, the other day, the passenger door refused to lock, and I had to pull the vacuum lines from the rubber 4 way connectors in the floor to bleed it. There was still quite a bit of vacuum there. Are my lines misrouted? Do i have to adjust the door vacuum switch? I hate messing with Mercedes trim, I'm scared of scartching it!!! |
