providing the year and model of your car would help get an accurate answer. I'm in the same boat, so don't feel bad.

"Icons" is the correct term, and they're ISO.
It's American cars that are different.

i have owned 6 mercedes so far, have 2 at the moment and dearly love everything about them except the dash controls. these are brilliantly designed and engineered cars up to the point when the switches go in and thats when the chimps take over. if you drive the car for 10 years you will still have to dig out the owners manual to get the heater to run on the 1st cold day. to make matters worse my present 2 cars, both the same year but different models have completely different and totally confusing dashes.

I think they all do the same thing. They just put multiple ones in to mess with you. Sick Germanic humor.

But then again I live in So. California. All I ever have to know is how to operate teh sunroof. Open on sunny days, close on rainy days. Makes it pretty darned easy. ![]()
