15000 km is a REALLY long interval. Even if I were using synthetic, I personally would not stretch it that far.

Good luck,

15000km for oil change..... too long!

I only change it every 6000km and using Lubro Moly Fully Synthetic Oil 5W40 on my C220 and 190E.

If you are using fully synthetic oil, better change it under 10000km.

Sure............go ahead & waste your money.
When I reset my FSS after an oilchange ( yes FULL synthetic ), it STARTS with a 15 000 km interval !
Based on my average driving, it will EXTEND this interval as much as 1 000 - 1 500 km !
Another small hint for you, oil sample analysis in the past have suggested I could safely DOUBLE my oilchange intervals.

oil chang intervals

This FSS thing from MB is one of the wildest things I've ever heard of, don't know what got in to them. Do the math (KM to Miles), and if you go over 5000 miles between oil changes you don't like your car very much. An oil chang is the "LEAST" expensive preventive maintenance you can do for your car. Most any oil will get you that far...

My oil gets changed every 6 200 miles.

Am I going to doubt science? I think not !
There are MANY reasons for extended drain intervals, which have been discussed here a gazillion times.

BMW recomends 10k on their new cars and MB recomends 13k or once a year. But both spec Mobil 1 or Amsoil will probably work. Dino just can't do it, and you had better use an OE filter.

1992 Ford Taurus 203,000 miles, using Mobil 1 at 8000 mile intervals. 15000km intervals should not be a problem.

I'm a liberal arts grad so my math is not all that great but I THINK eight or nine quarts of oil and a filter every 5-7K miles or so is slightly cheaper than an engine rebuild. OK, OK, somebody call me crazy...

Man.......what does it take to get my message across here ?
1. I use Mobil 1 0 W 40 oil ( as per M-B spec ),
2. I use ONLY OEM filters,
3. I change both @ 6 200 miles,
4. Oil analysis says I could double this, but I DON'T.
In 40 years of driving & maintaining countless vehicles, ( my " other ride " currently has 400 000 MILES on it ) I have NEVER had an engine go sour on me.
Comprende ? Liberal Arts student ?

Well, "Manny", at least a lib arts student can read. (I said "grad" - many years ago - not "student".) First you said "15 000 km interval" with the possibility of another "1 000 - 1 500 km" which is what I replied to. An hour or so later you said 6,200. So to answer your question about getting your message across, you might want to start by being consistent. Comprende, "Manny"?

Of course when they recommend fuel change intervals, i wonder if they take account severe driving conditions like stop and go!
