Obd Codes

Hi guys.my 1995 C280 has my CEL is on with the code PO505 idle air control system.
car is a lumpy idle when first started, and occasionally stalls out, but if you gently press the throttle to get the revs up and give it a few thousand RPM for a minute or so it is OK. It then runs aboslutely perfectly, never misses a beat, gives good power and acceleration and pretty good fuel economy.
Any clues as to the best things to check out etc?
thanks
Carl

That code refers to a problem with the ISC/CC/EA computer..that computer has it's own set of codes relating to what is the REAL problem. A scanner designed for MB is needed to read those codes..

Throttle actuator failure is a common problem...as well as the brake lamp switch & neutral/safety switch. Scan computer & post results.

Unhappy Obd Codes

Thanks. it will take me a while to get the codes as the nearest Benz dealer is miles away. I got the OBD2 code from my own reader. I notice a common actuator problem is a non working cruise control. Mine also is inoperative so I guess I am looking at an actuator or the wiring to it. [ had the engine wiring harness replaced already ]
