Nav map update available for early 2000 S Class??

Hey guys,

Does anyone know if there has been an update to the navigation map from Navteq since 2001 for the early (pre nov-99) S class. Dealer says there has not been but this sounds odd. The early S class had a "C" Comand that takes a different disc than the ones built after nov 99.

Thanks,
Brian

Is this a CD or DVD based system?

You'd know if the Cd's or DVD's were updated because they are actually dated.

The CD's are updated almost every year, btw.

This is an early 2000 CD system (C version). Dealer says there are no updates after 01 which I find hard to believe.

I think your dealer is wrong.

I believe that all CD based systems, whether in the E or S class, use the same Navi cd's. My new set came out in early 2005. Prior to '05, your could purchase any individual CD, but with the newest version, you have to buy all 7 or 8 Cd's for the whole country.

The ML Cd-based sytem, by the way, is different than all other chassis.
