Help! Found a puddle of windshield washer fluid right below the driver's side headlight on my 300E. I am guessing it is most likely the windshield washer fluid hose feeding the headlight wipers. Unless it's terribly crumbled, I think I can seal it with some heat-shrink tubing. I would like to know how to access this area without tearing/breaking some pins or clips before I put it all back. Thank you for your help.

There is a 2 into 1 check valve for the H/L washers near the radiator support that should keep the nozzle from leaking. The hose is very cheap, & the check valve may need to be replaced. Removal of the H/L wiper arm & plastic panel should get you there.

Okay, I am a little dense. My understanding is that the radiator support is not THAT close to the headlight wiper. Can I access it after removing the wiper arm and plastic panel? Is there a trick to removing those things? I don't want to break any clips. Thank you.

You will need to remove the little wiper arm first by taking off the retainer nut. Then disconnect the tubing from the jet on the wiper. Then you have to remove the right directional lamp housing. Can be done from the inside of the engine compartment by depressing the clip that holds it in place. Then you will expose the outer retainer screw for the trim panel below the headlight. The inner is already out in the breeze. Take off the screws and you will be able to get at all the tubing for that wiper. Follow it back to the split. You should be able to find your leak..
