190E hot starting problem

My 88 190E (2.3 l 8 valve) has developed an annoying hot start problem.

The engine starts off just fine when cold, it's what happens after the engine reaches operating temperature that's giving me grief.

If the engine is shut off when warm, then immediately restarted, there is no problem.

If the engine is shut off when warm, then restarted after about 5 minutes, it takes approx 30 seconds of cranking to get the engine to start. Even then, you have to floor the accelerator for about 10 seconds while the engine sputters and shakes like crazy as if it might be firing on only one cylinder, then it takes off like there was never a problem.

I checked the CIS temperature sensor and the resistance was within tolerance at all temperatures.

The dreaded OVP relay fuse is fine as well. But I DID notice the ABS light came on and stayed on at the same time this hot start problem developed. The ABS light now is off (it's not burnt out), but the hot start problem remains.

The idle is pretty steady @ 600 RPM, and the car accelerates and drives normally at any temperature.

This is driving me crazy, I don't want to wear out my starter, and all this cranking is embarrasing, too!
