'86 420SEL:Ignition/Fuel P. Disable?
HI; OK, I've got it back together (timing chain), and I am ready to turn it with the starter to get the oil flowing, etc. My car does not look exactly like the illustration in the manual; how do I disable the ignition and fuel pumps (without frying anything)?
I did find a green wire plugged into the ignition module; also I found the electrical terminals on the passenger side of the firewall. Thanks |

Ok, no reply needed now. I reasoned that, since I had the injector lines off, it would have to be cranked a little before it would start, anyway. I got good oil pressure a few seconds before it started; it settled down to a perfect idle, and seems to be in good shape. Once I burn the PB-
Blaster off the exhaust manifolds, I will take it out for a spin. It has to feel better, after getting those burned-up spark plugs out, not to mention the new timing chain and guides. I know the Owner feels better!I just wanted to thank everyone who offered advice, including Phil, who provided most of the parts.
